Watercolour is one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable painting. Many people have an interest in water colouring, but it is not easy to end a good picture. If you follow the following steps, you can create amazing watercolour drawing easily.

Step 1 – Sketch

Step 2 – Check colours

Step 3 – Test colours

Step 4 – Background

Step 5 – Mix colours

Step 6 – Edge and borders

Step 7 – Break and dry

Step 8 – Flower

Step 9 – Leaves

Step 10 – Details

Step 11 – Mix colours

Step 12 – Contour for shades 

Step 13 – Adjust colour

Step 14 – Polish the flower

Step 15 – Finish the flower

Step 16 – Add contrast

Step 17 – Repeat details

Step 1 – Sketch

Sketch the flower on watercolour paper

Step 2 – Check colours

Check all colour tone

Step 3 – Test colours

Test colours you will use on a separate paper

Step 4 – Background

Start with the green background: Wet on dry.

Step 5 – Mix colours

Add red into the wet green

Step 6 – Edge and borders

Paint the edge of the flower carefully

Step 7 – Break and dry

And leave it to dry. You can use a hairdryer to dry it fast

Step 8 – Flower

Paint the flower in the same technique with red and yellow colours.

Step 9 – Leaves

Use darker green for leaves.

Step 10 – Details

Start adding details such as seeds and texture of the flower.

Step 11 – Mix colours

Mix red and green to get the dark brown tone

Step 12 – Contour for shades

Don’t forget to draw the contour of the flower for shaded parts. 

Step 13 – Adjust colour

Add yellow to dark brown to make it softer

Step 14 – Polish the flower

At the same time paint the flower with red to look brighter.

Step 15 – Finish the flower

Go with same with all flower petal until you finish.

Step 16 – Add contrast

Add dark green contrast to the leaves.

Step 17 – Repeat details

Repeat the same detailing and colouring process until you are fully satisfied.

Step 18 – And your flower

Here it is your flower in watercolour!
